Andrew Wintersgill
Membership Secretary
Andrew has played badminton since 1985 and has been with HRBC since 2015. He enjoys badminton because it is great fun and can be played throughout the year in all weathers. He believes it is also a very sociable sport.

Andrew Sadler
Andy has been part of the official Houghton Regis Badminton Club since its inception, having spent well over 10 years on the court. "The main reason I love badminton, is for the creative and physical outlet it provides. A great game can be a lot like chess in trying you outplay your opponent. I also hate the gym so it’s a great way of tricking you in to exercise!"
Aimee Sadler
Club Secretary
Aimee helps with finances and admin work behind the scene, as well as running the instagram page for the club. She has played badminton since 2015 and joined the club following Covid. Aimee enjoys playing badminton at the club as she likes the social aspect of the club and has met some great people!
Fahim Maqsoid
Finance Manager
Fahim has been playing badminton since 2016 and in October 2022, he joined HRBC. He became a member of the HRBC committee and is assisting the HRBC with its financial and accounting system and reporting. Fahim really likes playing badminton at the club as everyone is very welcoming and helpful.
Emma Slough
Club Welfare Manager
Emma is on the committee helping to campaign to keep a 6 court sports hall solely for public use in a Houghton Regis. She has been playing badminton on and off for about 15 years. Emma really enjoys playing badminton because it’s a sport that anyone can do! It’s a social sport and she finds it quite therapeutic as it takes her mind off other things."
Sophie Vernon
Commercial Manager
Sophie joined the club in 2022 and really enjoys the mixture of a social and competitive environment of badminton at HRBC. She assists with all commercial aspects of the club including the website, apparel and social media presence.
Dilip Patel
Co-Chairman/ Club Operations
Dil started learning to play badminton at the age of 15 and formed a badminton club in the mid-1990’s that led to an eventual merger with Bruce Hallam’s club in 2010, after knowing Bruce and playing with his group for several years. Their merged badminton club evolved to being rebranded as HRBC in September 2019.
Bruce Hallam
Co-Chairman/Treasurer
Bruce was introduced to badminton by a friend and ever since has been addicted to the game. Over the years he has met with many super players which have challenged him to better his game. He is glad that he can still play at a reasonable level as he is now in his 70’s. Bruce hopes to be able to play for a few more years before he becomes too slow!
